Description

Beautiful 12-string guitar by Yamaha. Very good condition early 1970s model that looks like it has not received much use , and remains in excellent working order. The 12th string is missing, but there is a vintage, new old stock, set of Gibson strings included. This set also includes a leather-like covered black case with 4 latches. Case has sustained wear or damage (I assume) since it is covered with silver duct tape, the fancy kind used for HVAC work. I have not tried to look underneath, but it seems to be doing its job well and doesn’t look bad in comparison to some home fixes I’ve seen! Back of neck has previous owners name amateurishly engraved along side maybe a zip code? FG-260 with the gold or tan label. Stated made in Taiwan only, so Pre 1974, since it does not also state “Republic of China”. The logo on the headstock is just the three tuning forks in the circle without “YAMAHA” written below. Curiously the statement made in Taiwan was supposed to have been added late 73 and logo change was supposed to have been early 73. Body has a Maple face and a Rosewood back and sides that matches the neck and fretboard. Quite a handsome looking guitar in wonderful condition—if you are looking for a vintage 12 string, look no further these have withstood the test of time for a reason!
